About Us

We have owned dogs for over 20 years. Our 1st ever dog was Mr Digby who was a rescue Malamute with a mis understood personality (and at times was a little snappy). Despite his grumpy personality he showed us how much better life can be when you share it with a dog.We have also owned a Husky, Springer Spaniel, Springadore & German Shepherd. We sadly lost our last dog Alfie and we didn’t really have any notice. We thought that we would try life without a dog, telling ourselves ‘At least we are not tied to a dog’ & ‘Day to day life will be less stressful’.

This lasted less than 4 weeks before we were pining to have another dog in our lives.  So we ended up fostering an ex-racing Greyhound for a week and even though we slept separately taking it in turns to sleep on the floor downstairs due to huge separation anxiety, boom we knew for certain that we needed dogs in our lives. Covid had made dog & puppy prices go through the roof and we struggled at the rescue centres due to our sons age. It was at this point a family member said we should do dog boarding. Not really knowing it was a thing we looked into and was surprised that it was. A few months later and following an assessment with the Council we received our 1st licence and was given a 1 Star rating which is standard for all new boarders.

Over the 1st year we were surprised just how much in demand dog boarders were. Whilst Our licence allowed us to have up to 5 dogs we wanted to ensure we could give as much of our time and attention to the dog staying with us and decided that we would only ever have 1 booking at time. In just under a year our demand grew and we hated having to say no to our existing dogs due to our 1 booking policy so at the owners request we decided not to have just the one booking at a time. We ensure that however many dogs we have staying with us, that none of them will be too much for the other and that we can still give them the attention they deserve.

During the 1st year we worked closely with the Council and their requirements and guidance. We were very pleased to find that upon our licence renewal that we had been granted 5 Stars.

When your dogs stays with us we do our best to treat them as part of our family, & whilst some have been staying with us we have taken them to beach, on a big wheel (enclosed box), a boat ride in York and even taken part in a muddy dog challenge for charity. The more adventurous outings are all pre approved by the owner before taking place. We also try and put any initial concerns at rest by keeping you updated via text or photos and to ensure your own security we never post anything on social media until the boarding has ended.Â
